Men’s health: potential for accident prevention

England's new men's health strategy aims to tackle key areas of public health, including alcohol misuse, gambling addiction and suicide. Homes, schools, workplaces and family centers are key places to support healthy decision-making behavior in men. Health visitors have an important role in involving fathers during pregnancy and the first years of a child's life, but their numbers need to be significantly increased. Accident prevention represents an important area of ​​public health with great potential for improving health outcomes. Between 2013 and 2022, 40 per cent more men than women died in the UK from preventable events. Three times more men than women were killed in traffic accidents during this decade.
