The ARPA-H agency, inspired by DARPA and called "Moonshot", is laying off employees responsible for commercializing discoveries. New director Alicia Jackson takes over the leadership of the agency just at the time of these changes. ARPA-H focuses on breakthrough projects in health and science. The layoffs are related to changes in the agency's structure. According to Slovak laws, mass layoffs are considered termination of relations with at least 30 employees in 30 days at large employers. In 2025, 22 mass layoffs were reported threatening 2,635 jobs, down from 36 cases and 3,596 jobs in 2024.[2][3]
