The study compared team-based learning (TBL) and problem-based learning (PBL) in 66 sixth-year medical students at the University of Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, from October 15, 2024 to January 15, 2025. The PBL control group consisted of 32 students, the experimental TBL group consisted of 34 students. At the end, they took a summative test with 14 multiple-choice questions, where TBL achieved a mean score of 9.94 (SD 2.28) and PBL 8.84 (SD 2.24) with a p-value of 0.053, which was not statistically significant. In the TBL group, the difference between the pretest (mean 7.42, SD 2.50) and the posttest (mean 9.94, SD 2.35) was statistically significant (p=0.001). Both methods yielded comparable summary results. TBL can systematically improve knowledge acquisition. Final year students prefer both methods.
