Time-restricted feeding (TRF), which is a form of intermittent fasting, has shown promising results in Crohn's disease patients in clinical remission. During a 12-week study, this diet led to a significant reduction in clinical disease activity and systemic inflammation. The study focused on adult patients with Crohn's disease who were in remission and were overweight. Time-restricted eating represents a potential additional approach to managing the disease in the symptom-free period. The results suggest that this form of dietary intervention may have a positive effect on the control of inflammatory markers. This is a new option that could complement the traditional treatment of Crohn's disease.
