The study compared the prognostic value of the CALLY (C-reactive protein-albumin-lymphocyte) index with traditional inflammatory markers in patients with colorectal cancer after radical resection[2]. The CALLY index achieved higher diagnostic accuracy (AUC 0.789) compared to other markers such as NLR (0.664) and PLR (0.647)[2]. Patients with a high CALLY index had a significantly better 5-year overall survival rate (83.5% versus 12.9% for patients with a low CALLY)[2]. Multivariate analysis confirmed that the CALLY index is an independent prognostic factor[2]. The CALLY index integrates information on inflammation, nutrition and the patient's immune status, which gives it a greater predictive value than individual indicators[2]. The researchers concluded that CALLY may serve as a reliable tool for postoperative prognostic assessment of patients with colorectal cancer and aid in clinical risk stratification[2].
