The study evaluated the knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of nurses towards frailty syndrome in Fujian Province, China through a multicenter cross-sectional survey with 598 registered nurses. Nurses demonstrated basic theoretical knowledge of definitions of frailty, but had significant gaps in practical application, especially in identifying risk factors and complex assessments. Univariate analysis showed associations between practical scores and factors such as knowledge, age or education. A multivariate model revealed that attitude was the only independent predictor of practice (β = 0.67, p < 0.001), while knowledge and demographic variables lost significance after adjustment (p > 0.05). There is a significant gap between the theoretical knowledge and practical behavior of nurses in the care of fragile patients. The authors recommend focusing interventions on motivational strategies instead of purely didactic training.
