A group of European venture capital firms join forces to improve funding conditions for biotech startups.[original] BIO-Europe Spring strengthens collaboration with YVC Collective, a network of more than 600 life sciences investors who help select innovative startups for presentations at the conference.[1] This collaboration includes the review of Startup Spotlight and Presenting Company submissions, giving early stage companies visibility in front of investors and decision makers.[1] The initiative will be extended to other Informa events in 2026, including BIO-Europe.[1] Startup Spotlight is a competition for companies less than three years old, with fewer than 25 employees and under $10 million in funding, where eight finalists will be selected.[2] For example, in 2025, Germany's Fusix Biotech won with technology in tumor immunology.[2] The goal is to support the transition of innovations into investable opportunities in the life sciences ecosystem.[1]
