The study examines the effectiveness of acupuncture combined with auricular acupressure in the treatment of dry eye syndrome compared to eye drops containing 0.1% sodium hyaluronate. 126 patients divided into two groups of equal size will be included in the multicenter randomized controlled trial. The intervention group will be treated with acupuncture and auricular acupressure for 8 weeks, while the control group will receive sodium hyaluronate eye drops. The primary measured indicator is the Eye Disease Index (OSDI), which will be monitored from the beginning of the study to week 8 and then for another 8 weeks. Secondary outcomes include tear film quality, corneal status, meibomian gland function, and psychological factors including anxiety, depression, and sleep quality. The study is registered in the clinical database with the identifier ITMCTR2024000673 and aims to determine whether combined acupuncture improves dry eye symptoms and affects the quality of sleep and mood of patients.
