Scotland's resident doctors have voted to accept the government's pay offer and called off planned strike action. The deal includes wage increases of 8.16% over two years - 4.25% in 2025-2026 and 3.75% in 2026-2027. According to the British Medical Association (BMA), the offer equates to an average pay rise of 9.9% for 2025-26 and 9.4% for 2026-27. Specific increases range from 8.56% to 12.65% in the first year and from 8.04% to 12.1% in the second year, depending on the physician's pay scale. 62% of authorized doctors participated in the vote, of which 97% voted for the agreement. As a result of the acceptance of the offer, the previously postponed strike action was cancelled.
