Four Democratic-led states sued President Donald Trump's administration to prevent the withholding of $600 million in health grants.[1] These states are a frequent target of Trump's criticism.[1] The lawsuit was filed on Wednesday.[1] The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) notified Congress on Monday of a planned cut of hundreds of millions in public health grants.[1] Attorneys general and governors from 23 states have sued the Trump administration over similar cuts to $11 billion in public health funds.[2] In addition, the Trump administration has blocked $10 billion in child care and assistance to needy families in 5 Democratic-led states.[6] These actions are related to disputes over the funding of health care and government programs.[1][2][5]
