A new study found that adults who stopped eating and dimmed the lights three hours before bed experienced improvements in blood pressure, heart rate and blood sugar control. This simple shift in the evening routine extended the overnight fast by approximately two hours. The improvements occurred without a reduction in total calorie intake. The participants thus achieved a measurable positive impact on heart health. The study highlights the importance of meal timing in relation to sleep. These changes were observed in adult participants.
