The study assessed HPV and HPV vaccine awareness among 1,418 women with high-risk HPV types in the Mediterranean region, with 776 participants completing the survey. Seventy percent of women underwent an HPV test during a doctor's visit, while 22 percent for screening purposes. About 79.5 percent of the participants had no knowledge of HPV before the test. 49.2 percent of healthcare professionals and 31.4 percent of social media cited as a source of primary information. 20.7 percent of women were informed about the HPV vaccine and only 8.9 percent were vaccinated. HPV-positive women at risk for cervical cancer have limited knowledge about HPV and the vaccine. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of raising awareness in society, especially through the use of social media by healthcare professionals.
