This article is a correction of a case report of epidermodysplasia verruciformis (EV) with multiple squamous cell and basal cell carcinomas. EV is a rare skin disease characterized by wart-like lesions caused by abnormal susceptibility to HPV infection. It manifests as scaly patches and bumps especially on the hands, feet, face and neck, usually from childhood. Patients are at high risk of squamous cell carcinomas of the skin, with malignant transformation of lesions in 30–60% of cases in adults aged 30–50 years. Treatment includes acitretin at a dose of 0.5–1 mg/day for 6 months as the most effective option with antiproliferative effects. The diagnosis is confirmed clinically and histologically, with characteristic changes in kerocytes. There is no curative treatment, photoprotection and excision of lesions is recommended.
