Resident doctors in Scotland have accepted a government pay offer which will see pay rise by almost 10% a year for the next two years. The deal includes an increase of 8.16% – 4.25% in 2025-2026 and 3.75% in 2026-2027 – plus further investment to move up the pay scale. 97% of more than 62% of eligible doctors voted in favor of the deal, canceling previously postponed strike action. GP records on more than three million patients will be shared with researchers in a bid to improve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of serious diseases. The data will go to three national research studies – Genomics England, Our Future Health and UK Biobank – where participants have given consent.
