A pilot study examined the impact of a six-month medication adherence training program on healthcare workers in Mexico (15 participants) and Thailand (27 participants). The program included three face-to-face meetings, educational sessions, self-study and digital tools including the my:care app and the Insight tool. Routine assessment of patient adherence increased from 47% to 87% in Mexico and from 22% to 80% in Thailand. Insight usage increased from 0% to 53% in Mexico and from 11% to 96% in Thailand, while my:care app recommendation increased from 33% to 100% in Mexico and from 15% to 92% in Thailand. The study showed a significant improvement in healthcare professionals' knowledge of medication adherence and their clinical practices in both countries. Health professionals have increased confidence in dealing with medication adherence issues and implemented more personalized support strategies. The researchers concluded that a structured training program integrating behavioral science and digital tools is effective in culturally diverse settings, but further research with a larger sample is needed.
