There have been 130 confirmed cases of measles in England this year, with 34 new cases in the past week. Some children had to be admitted to hospital in connection with the London epidemic. By the end of February, 103 cases had been reported in January and 27 in February. The actual number is likely higher due to delays in laboratory testing. There were fewer than 1,000 cases in England last year, with 88 in January and 68 in February 2025. The recent increase is mainly due to an outbreak in north London, where 50 cases were confirmed in Enfield and 10 in Haringey. UKHSA urged parents to ensure their children are vaccinated.
