Four years after the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainian health workers are facing intense pressure. Attacks on medical facilities exceeded 2,250 cases, disrupting preventive programs, vaccinations and daily care. Power outages and increasing attacks on civilian objects make rescuing the wounded and providing medical aid difficult. A shortage of medicines, equipment and personnel is exacerbating the health crisis in the affected areas. The war accelerates the spread of antibiotic resistance due to overcrowded hospitals and non-compliance with anti-epidemic measures. WHO supported Ukraine by training more than 2,500 health workers in infection prevention and strengthening the capacities of more than 200 laboratories.[6][1]
