Fourteen Democratic-led states and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro sued the Trump administration over the repeal of universal childhood vaccination recommendations[1][2]. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has released a new vaccination schedule, from which recommendations against covid, rotavirus, influenza, meningococcal disease, jaundice type A and type B have disappeared[1][2]. According to the CDC, parents should consult with doctors in the framework of shared decision-making[1][2]. The suit is filed in federal court in North Carolina and also challenges the replacement of members of the Vaccination Advisory Committee by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy[1][2]. The committee is scheduled to meet in March after the cancellation of the February meeting[1][2]. The states of California, Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii criticized the hepatitis B vaccine changes because of a lack of credible evidence[3]. They recommend continuing to vaccinate newborns within 24 hours after birth[3].
