A systematic review and meta-analysis investigated the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in the treatment of cancer-related anemia. The study included 58 scientific papers with a total of 4,308 patients, of which 2,157 were in the treatment group and 2,151 were in the control group. Patients treated according to TCM showed statistically significant improvement in hemoglobin level, clinical efficacy, KPS (Performance Status Indicator), TCM syndrome efficacy and red blood cell count compared to the control group. TCM also improved patients' immune functions and quality of life. Analysis of publication bias showed a low level of bias, indicating the reliability of the results. The conclusion of the study claims that traditional Chinese medicine can significantly improve the anemia of cancer patients and their overall health.
