The study looked at 240 women aged 35 and older with pregnancy-induced hypertension, of which 183 had a favorable outcome and 57 had an unfavorable outcome. Using echocardiography, the researchers found that women with adverse pregnancy outcomes had significantly lower values of ejection fraction, stroke volume, and cardiac output, while showing higher left atrial volume index values and reduced heart function parameters. History of hypertension, nephritis and family history of hypertension were identified as significant clinical risk factors. Multivariable analysis confirmed that both clinical and echocardiographic parameters were independently associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes. The combined model integrating multiple echocardiographic indicators achieved high predictive power with an AUC value of 0.925, indicating an excellent ability to distinguish women at risk of adverse outcomes. The results suggest that echocardiography may be clinically useful for identifying women at high risk of complications during pregnancy.
