UK regulators are investigating an online pharmacy in Birmingham that supplied fake Mounjaro pens to patients. The private pharmacy clinic has been stopped from providing prescription drugs or medical supplies while the situation is investigated. Counterfeit versions of Mounjaro (tirzepatide) KwikPen 15 mg solution have been identified due to errors in the use of all pens except one dose. So far, five fake lips have been found and no patient harm has been reported. The MHRA is still investigating the origin of the pens and said that although they likely contain tirsepatide, they do not meet the quality and safety standards of legitimate pens. It is not safe to use these fake lips. Healthcare professionals and patients have been advised to be wary of the Mounjaro KwikPen.
