PFAS are chemicals called "forever chemicals" found in many common products, from non-stick pans to food packaging. A nationwide US study found that two lesser-known PFAS compounds – PFNA and PFOSA – were detected in 95% of participants. These compounds are strongly associated with faster biological aging, especially in men aged 50 to 64. Research suggests that PFASs can accelerate the aging process itself in the human body. Diet is an important factor determining PFAS exposure[1]. Higher blood levels of PFNA and PFOS were associated with higher exposure to these chemicals[1].
