Former US Surgeon General Jerome Adams is calling on the Senate not to approve a candidate for the post of chief medical officer who cannot practice medicine. In the opinion, he writes that the surgeon general does not influence wellness. Adams cites Casey Means regarding this claim. He served as the former 20th Surgeon General from 2017 to 2021. Before that, he was the Indiana State Health Commissioner. He is a licensed anesthesiologist with a master's degree in public health. He declares that the Senate must not approve someone unfit for this key position.
