The FDA hosted an expert panel on food allergies on February 25, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM ET at its White Oak Campus in Silver Spring, Maryland.[2][4][5] The panel consisted of roundtables of independent scientific experts who reviewed the latest evidence, assessed health risks, explored safer alternatives, and offered recommendations for regulatory action.[1][2][5] Discussions focused on the etiology of food allergies, the best treatments, and current health guidelines.[1][2] Confirmed panelists included Ruchi Gupta, Richard Iorio, Corinne Keet, Stefano Luccioli, Sung Poblete, Ronald L. Rabin, Hugh A. Sampson, and Kelly Stone.[4] Among them were prominent experts such as the director of the food allergy center at Northwestern University and professors from Harvard and Mount Sinai.[4] The event was broadcast live and the public was able to attend with a limited number of seats.[1][5] FDA invited public comments in docket FDA-2026-N-1925.[4]
