Local complications of severe acute pancreatitis include pancreatic necrosis, pancreatic pseudocysts, and peripancreatic abscesses. Secondary liver abscess in pancreatitis is extremely rare. The infection can spread through the portal venous system, the lymphatic system, or by direct infiltration from peripancreatic inflammation. The liver is prone to complicated intracystic hemorrhage due to direct invasion of bacteria and amylase. The article describes a rare case of hepatic abscess of pancreatic origin with intracystic bleeding after severe acute pancreatitis. Primary treatment was partial hepatectomy. The aim is to summarize the therapeutic experience for such patients.
