President Donald Trump's administration has launched TrumpRx.gov, a website to bring affordable drugs to Americans.[1][2][3] The site does not serve to sell drugs directly, but functions as a signpost that redirects visitors to websites where they can buy drugs without unnecessary surcharges.[1][2][4] Trump has long drawn attention to the high prices of drugs in the United States, and at the launch he said that using the site people would save their full name.[1][3][6] On the first day of operation, it was possible to obtain approximately 40 medicines through it, including slimming preparations such as Ozempic or Wegovy.[1][2][3] Trump struck a deal with Pfizer that promises an average savings of up to 50 percent on some drugs.[5] The site went live on Thursday, with Trump urging drug companies to lower prices for patients.[6]
