Generic versions of Novo Nordisk's drugs Wegovy and Ozempic could be mass-produced for about $3 per person per month, according to a new analysis. The analysis focuses on the production costs of these injectable drugs. These drugs are sold at much higher prices in the US, for example Ozempic for $1,000 per month and Wego for $1,300 per month.[1] Prices are lower in other countries, with Ozempic at $147 in Canada or $93 in the UK.[1] The analysis highlights the difference between production costs and market prices. These findings are based on an estimate of the mass production of generics.[1]
