The terms gender, equality and equity have been heavily contested and increasingly instrumentalized in the last year. The Trump administration's January 2025 executive order bans the use of gender in federal documents. This regulation stops all funding for programs that do not promote a male-female binary. It also ends all diversity, equity and inclusion programs. These measures will have harmful health effects in the US and abroad.
