In April 2025, the report of the Lancet Commission on Gender and Global Health, entitled "Achieving gender justice for global health equity", was published, resulting from a five-year assessment of the history and politics of gender justice within the global health system. The report identified significant challenges to gender equity in global health. At the same time, the Commission determined specific milestones for progress in this area. The report calls on the global health community and its allies to actively promote equity and justice. According to the commission, gender justice is fundamental to the effectiveness, legitimacy and sustainability of the global health system. Many international colleagues from different countries participated in the report.
