Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women's Hospital have agreed to work together under a mutually acceptable and coordinated plan following a dispute over oncology doctors.[original content] The two institutions are ending a long-standing partnership, with the contract expiring in the fall of 2028.[3] Dana-Farber plans to build a new oncology hospital with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, which will not be ready until 2031.[3] Brigham-related Mass General Brigham invests $400 million over four years in MGB Cancer in connection with breakup with Dana-Farber.[1] This investment includes renovations at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Faulkner Hospital to create new outpatient facilities, hire top oncologists and improve technology.[1] The goal is to ensure full operation of MGB Cancer with own resources before the end of the agreement in 2028.[1] Tensions between the organizations have persisted for years and are affecting employees.[3]
