Cancer patients who followed a structured exercise program during chemotherapy had significantly fewer cancer-related cognitive impairments compared to patients who received usual care. A randomized trial demonstrated this difference. The program lasted 6 weeks and was tailor-made for the patients. Cognitive disorders, known as "chemo brain", were thus significantly reduced in the exercise group. The study was published on MedPage Today. The main finding is the positive effect of exercise on cognitive functions during chemotherapy.
