The study deals with three-dimensional simulations of a mixed maneuver (MM) for the treatment of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) caused by otoconia in three semicircular canals on the same side. Classic canal repositioning maneuvers (CRM) are intended primarily for one semicircular canal, therefore a mixed maneuver hybridized with classical techniques was proposed. Simulations of otoconia movement were performed on a 3-axis servomotor platform with the aVOR iPhone application and the BPPV VIEWER program. The results showed that the Epley and Barbecue maneuvers were effective for posterior and horizontal semicircular canal otoconia, the supine roll test combined with the Gufoni maneuver was effective for the horizontal canal, and the Dix-Hallpike test with the Yacovino maneuver was effective for the anterior canal. The mixed maneuver demonstrated the potential to relocate otoconia in all three semicircular canals on the same side. The SMP-aVOR and BPPV VIEWER models provide methods for studying otoconia repositioning and verifying the effectiveness of treatments.
