A new mouse study shows that fathers' exposure to nicotine affects the metabolic health of their children. When male mice consumed nicotine, their offspring had changes in how the body processes sugar. Differences in insulin and glucose levels were observed. Liver function in the offspring was also altered. These metabolic shifts may be associated with a higher risk of diabetes and other metabolic diseases.
