A Swedish cohort study showed that Alzheimer's gene carriers with a higher meat intake did not have the expected increase in cognitive decline or dementia.[1] These people consumed a relatively large amount of meat, which led to a lower risk of dementia than expected.[1] The study focused on the relationship between genetic risk and dietary habits.[1] Higher total meat consumption was associated with a positive effect in the risk group.[1]
