Dr Khush Zeeshan, a specialist in the emergency department at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan, has been suspended from the UK medical register for 12 months. Zeeshan exploited the health concerns of two younger colleagues for his sexual gratification. In the first case, he offered a patient with back and shoulder pain a physical examination during which he massaged her bottom, thighs and legs through her dress and massaged her back and shoulders under her top without informed consent. In the second case, he extended an examination of the armpit of a colleague who had problems with her lymph nodes to her breasts without her consent. The tribunal found that Zeeshan acted willfully and breached the professional standards of the medical profession.
