At the same time, the FDA is investigating a separate, unrelated outbreak caused by Rosabella brand moringa powder capsules that affected 7 people in 7 states with 3 hospitalizations[1]. Salmonella bacteria detected in both epidemics are resistant to commonly used antibiotics, which complicates the treatment of infected persons[1][2]. Affected products were available for sale throughout the US and internationally through online platforms such as Amazon, eBay, and Shein[1][4].
