A judge issued a ruling Monday that struck HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on American vaccination policy. Since taking office, Kennedy essentially hijacked the CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) by firing all 17 members. Kennedy called the committee a "rubber stamp" for vaccines and acted on the directive on June 9, 2025. Committee members are independent experts who advise the CDC on vaccine recommendations for adults and children. These recommendations affect insurance coverage and liability protection. Kennedy previously pushed for changes in COVID-19 vaccine recommendations and ended funding for bird flu vaccine research. Committee leader Dr. Lakshmi Panagiotakopoulos resigned after his order to change the guidelines for the COVID-19 vaccines.[1][2]
