Researchers have discovered that the spread of cancer is not random but follows a biological 'program'. By studying colon tumor cells, they identified gene patterns that signal the likelihood of cancer metastases. Their artificial intelligence model MangroveGS predicts this risk with about 80 percent accuracy. In addition, the model works for several types of cancer. This tool could change the way doctors decide who needs aggressive treatment and who doesn't.
