A coalition of 24 US states, including California, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York, along with the District of Columbia, the US Virgin Islands and several cities and counties, sued the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) over changes in greenhouse gas regulations. The states argue that President Donald Trump's administration has rescinded a 2009 threat finding that identified greenhouse gases as a threat to public health and welfare now and in the future. This finding called for regulation of greenhouse gases, including those from new motor vehicles. Last month, the EPA announced a rule reversing that finding. In a fact sheet, the EPA said it chooses consumer choice over climate change bigotry. The repeal also includes standards for greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles.[1][2][3]
