A Canadian case-control study found that Covid-19 vaccines do not increase the risk of sudden cardiac death in healthy younger adults. The study included nearly 6.4 million Ontarians aged 12-50 without documented comorbidities such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes or cancer. Of this group, 0.08% died suddenly, with a median age of 36, and 74.4% were men. To meet the criteria for sudden death, deaths had to occur outside the hospital, emergency room, or hospital within 24 hours of admission, with a diagnosis of cardiac arrest, sudden death, or severe ventricular arrhythmia, without factors such as trauma or mental disorder. Of the total number of deaths, 4448 (89.6%) occurred in the pre-hospital setting and 515 (10.4%) within one day of transfer to the hospital.
