The article deals with the potential benefits of distributing elective (planned) hospitalizations in hospitals. The author argues that a more even distribution of these revenues could lead to improved patient safety. He further suggests that it could contribute to the better well-being of doctors and medical staff. Last but not least, discretionary income distribution could lead to a reduction in overall health care spending. The author emphasizes that this intervention could bring benefits for patients, health professionals and hospitals.
