Osteopathic medical school (DO) graduates face bias when applying for medical residency, according to an AACOM survey. The survey found that DO graduates perceive discrimination in the process of admission to residence. This bias can affect their chances of obtaining the desired residency. The survey was aimed at investigating the experience of DO graduates with the process of applying for residence. The results indicate an ongoing problem in medical education and residency admissions. AACOM strives to reduce this bias and promote equal opportunities for all medical graduates.
