The African Union, through the African Center for Disease Control and Prevention, operationalized strategies on non-communicable diseases, injuries and mental health. The goal is to reverse the significant human and economic losses caused by these conditions. In Africa, cardiovascular diseases and other non-communicable diseases are responsible for more than 70% of premature deaths in the region. The incidence of road traffic injuries increases to 16.06 deaths per 100,000 population in previous years. The mental condition currently affects 14% of the population. These facts underline the common position of the African Union on these areas.
