The study examined changes in vaping and smoking trends in Great Britain following the announcement and implementation of a disposable vape ban. The research included 118,946 adults, including 12,042 young adults aged 16-24, monitored from January 2022 to February 2026. After the ban was announced in January 2024 and implemented in June 2025, the proportion of e-cigarette users primarily using disposable devices declined significantly. By February 2026, only 5.6% of adults and 7.1% of young adults used disposable vapes, compared to the projected 62.0% and 63.6% without the ban. Overall vaping prevalence slowed after implementation and stabilized at lower levels than without the ban. The decline in smoking slowed after the announcement but intensified again after implementation.
