The study analyzed the real-world effectiveness and safety of avacopan in treating ANCA-associated vasculitis based on 71 clinical studies. Results showed that disease remission was achieved in 87% of patients at 6 months and 93% of patients at 12 months of treatment. Sustained remission was achieved in 86% of patients at 12 months, and disease relapse occurred in only 7% of patients. The drug demonstrated a significant glucocorticoid-sparing effect, with corticosteroids needed in only 36% of patients. Improvement in kidney function was observed with an increase in glomerular filtration rate of 18 mL/min/1.73 m² in both monitored periods. Hepatotoxicity occurred in 11% of patients and serious infection in 7% of patients. The study confirms the clinical effectiveness of avacopan with the need for appropriate safety monitoring.
