The Ministry of Health allocated a total of 65 million crowns to support 303 residency positions for healthcare professionals in 2024. Each position receives 180 to 320 thousand crowns. The support focuses on specialties with the most significant personnel shortages, including general nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, emergency medical technicians, and other specialists. The largest number of positions (110) is designated for intensive care nurses. Since 2017, the ministry has supported over 4,700 healthcare professionals and allocated more than 631 million crowns for this purpose. The ministry plans to continue this support in the future and aims to increase the allocation to 70 million crowns for 2027.
