The study examines cases where thyroid cancer is discovered incidentally in the presence of inflammatory thyroid lesions. Two types of thyroid cancer were investigated: papillary and follicular types. Patients had diagnosed Hashimoto's disease or Hashimoto's thyroiditis, which are inflammatory thyroid conditions. The treatment involved total removal of the thyroid gland (total thyroidectomy). The research was conducted at Minia University and has been completed. The study indicates the possibility of concurrent occurrence of inflammatory thyroid diseases and thyroid cancer.
