An accident occurred on the D1 highway near Brno, heading towards Prague, between the Brno-západ and Kývalka exits. A delivery van collided with a stationary Tatra truck, under which the driver was lying and repairing it at the time. The delivery van driver sustained moderately severe injuries and was transported by helicopter to Brno University Hospital. Rescuers transported the second man to the hospital by ambulance to rule out more serious injuries. The highway was closed for two hours after the accident, with the left lane reopening at 2:30 PM. Subsequently, an 18-kilometer long traffic jam formed before the accident site.
