Neuroinvasive West Nile virus disease can lead to substantial morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised patients. Currently, there are no proven antiviral therapies for treating this condition. Therefore, the adoptive transfer of virus-specific memory T cells represents a promising and novel therapeutic approach. This report describes the case of an immunocompromised patient who presented with neuroinvasive West Nile virus. His medical condition rapidly deteriorated. Subsequently, he was administered directly isolated, allogeneic, virus-specific memory T cells, which were directed against West Nile virus.
