Farzaneh A. Sorond is a physician-scientist for whom both scientific research and patient care are important. In her career, she combines clinical practice with a scientific approach to medicine. As a clinician, she repeatedly noticed that patients with a similar type of stroke often had very different treatment outcomes. This observation sparked her scientific curiosity and a desire to understand the reasons behind these differences. The combination of both roles eventually led her to a holistic approach in the field of brain health. This approach focuses primarily on prevention before the actual symptoms of brain disease arise.
